Unit 11 – Professional Secrets of Sourcing Products and Services

This Unit will be divided into 3 parts (three separate sessions) as knowing these secrets is pivotal to building an enterprise

Part 1

This session is for conceptualizing the sourcing of products and services. Remember Advertising is Business and Business is Advertising and we use these principles in sourcing products and services.

Assignments

1) Review the ASBIG AIDA Mind Map in the Materials Section

2) Finalize your Letter to your EDO for a BCR to have a Business Plan Funded

See the Draft Letter in Unit 10 for further guidance.

3) Listen to Think & Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich was written by Napoleon Hill in 1937 and promoted as a personal development and self-improvement book. First published during the Great Depression, the book has sold more than 15 million copies.

This recording is 10 hours long and will develop your entrepreneurial mindset. Try to spend at least 30 minutes a day going through the audio and understanding the concepts given. Get a journal and make notes as ideas come to you in building your business.

Part 2

In this session we start to delve into where you can source out products – Sourcing Products At Your Fingertips – Today’s Technology Brings Millions of Products Into Your Home

There are many places you can begin your search for products and ideas. Never limit your thinking. You will be surprised at some of the unusual places you can seek new and innovative products. Here are some great sources to locate new products and ideas.

Part 3

In this session, we discuss in more details sourcing products from websites and looking at products from a different perspective, the entrepreneurial perspective.

Assignments

1) Allocate an hour a day to go through Sourcing Websites listed in Part 2 of this Unit

Keep pen and paper handy and write any feelings. I don’t like this product; I like this product, how about making it into this, this and this. How about giving it a Native design. Stretch your mind.

You are building your sourcing mental muscles using the Advertising Principles of ASBIG and AIDA previously discussed in Part 1 of this Unit. This art will pay dividends in your business in the future.

2) Watch Dead Poet’s Society

This movie will open up your creativity to see things differently. All successful people think differently.

The following 3 scenes of the movie in particular will develop your entrepreneurial mindset: As you watch them write down how they affect you and how they make you feel.
